CARING ADULTS:
Share Your Gift. Shape the Future.

Every young person needs a guide - someone who believes in them, teaches them, and shows them what’s possible. That’s what the Caring Adults Program is all about.

We know our community is full of wisdom, skills, and lived experience. Whether you can braid hair, fix a bike, cook a family recipe, build a business, or play an instrument, your gift matters. And we’ll pay you to share it.

Here’s how it works:

  • You bring your skill, talent, or life lesson.

  • We connect you with local youth eager to learn.

  • You’re compensated as an instructor while making a lasting impact.

This isn’t just mentorship — it’s intergenerational power. By participating, you’ll strengthen bonds between youth and elders, build pride in community knowledge, and help prepare the next generation for success.

Because when we invest in each other, everybody wins.

CARING ADULTS PROGRAM

THE PROBLEM: West Dayton youth often lack access to mentorship, practical skills, and workforce pathways, while community knowledge and talents remain underutilized.

OUR WORK:

  • Intergenerational bonding that connects youth with caring adults

  • Paid instruction model that compensates residents for teaching skills

  • Skill-building opportunities to prepare youth for future work

  • Workforce development through hands-on, community-based learning

  • Youth-centered engagement tied to health, food, and local economy initiatives

THE IMPACT:
Builds strong intergenerational ties while equipping youth with skills for lifelong success.
