WEST DAYTON CONTRACTORS NETWORK

Dayton has committed $16 million to repair homes — but too often, Black-owned contractors are left out of the process. That means local businesses miss opportunities, residents miss out on trusted neighborhood contractors, and dollars that should stay in the community go elsewhere.

The West Dayton Contractors Network is changing that. We’re organizing local contractors, helping them get vendor-ready, and making sure Black-owned businesses have a seat at the table.

Worker on Ladder

Here’s what the Network offers:

📋 Business readiness support - from certification to contract coaching

🤝 A collaborative pipeline of 20+ contractors positioned for prime & subcontracting roles

💵 Direct access to city contracts tied to millions in home repair funding

📈 High return on investment by matching local businesses with immediate demand

This is more than construction - it’s about building wealth, opportunity, and equity right here in West Dayton

👉 Contractors: Join the Network. Residents: Support local builders.

Together, we’ll ensure every home repair dollar strengthens our community.

WEST DAYTON CONTRACTORS NETWORK

THE PROBLEM: Black-owned contractors are underrepresented in Dayton’s $16M home repair initiative, leaving local businesses excluded and projects without qualified vendors. Our community’s business owners miss wealth-building opportunities by spending more time working “in” the business than “on” it.

OUR WORK:

  • Organizes 10+ contractors into a network to pursue larger contracts

  • Grows access to contracts by connecting Black contractors to city-funded repair projects

  • Prepares smaller vendors through clinics, coaching, and certification support

  • Expands pipeline with 20 contractors positioned for prime and subcontracting roles

  • High return on investment by aligning local workforce with immediate, funded demand for home repair services

THE IMPACT: Increases equity in contracting while ensuring city repair dollars support local, Black-owned businesses and meet urgent housing needs.
